Pacing A lot of my issues with Alice in Wonderland—the character development, the early death of major characters—are ultimately a result of bad pacing.

    It's not truly clear if aliens, A.I. or magic is at work in Alice in Borderland , whereas Squid Game is occurring in the real world, with just science and morals involved -- as rich folks draw pleasure in the suffering. What's also very different is Squid Games doesn't really have a hero, as even Gi-hun does nasty things to win.

    level 1 · 6 mo. ago I like Alice in borderland more. There’s more mystery as to what’s going on. level 2 Op · 6 mo. ago I also prefer it, for many reasons. More interesting characters, more interesting storyline, more emotional, and the bad acting of the English speaking VIPS really messed up the show on Squid Game. It’s also way less predictable.

    AiB is terrible compared to SG. way too anime-ish and hard to believe / difficult to feel immersive. feels like a make believe story for a high school project told by a teenager that hasnt experienced life. squid game although also unrealistic, has way better grounding / pacing and very realistic, human emotions. 5 level 1 Artium99 · 3 mo. ago

    I watched Alice in Borderland first, but I like Squid Game better. I liked the concept, theming, and mechanics of AiB, but SG is more grounded and better acted. Although I really appreciated that AiB's games felt more strategic and psychological.
