Instead of having a whole armada made up of one not-quite-starfleet class of ship copied and pasted a bunch of times, the fleet we see in the first epsiode of season two is very familiar and fits the era well.



And they find themselves in a strange alternate reality.

After Picard reveals his name and explains that he is looking for a watcher, Guinan leads him to someone who is also known as a "Supervisor" that is acting as a "guardian angel" for someone on Earth.

It has received generally positive reviews from critics.



STP suffers from irksome, eye-rolling dialogue and erratic plot developments robbing potential viewing enjoyment and satisfaction, despite a capable cast.

In January 2020, while promoting the first season of the series on the talk showStewart officially invited co-host Goldberg to appear in the second season, an invitation which Goldberg accepted.

The first episode was very bad but I stuck with it and at times it was okay but everyone is so, so stupid.

Goldsman said they wanted to revisit the Stargazer as part of the season's theme of looking back at the past, with Picard having a deep emotional connection to the ship.
